Hyori started her career as the lead singer of Korean pop group Fin. K.L, one of the most successful girl groups in the Korean pop world.  Her first solo album, released in 2003, was very successful, nearly sweeping the Daesang awards, Korea’s equivalent to the Emmy. She earned a total of seven Daesangs for that album. She has since become the highest-paid female singer in South Korea.
