Guest DJ Set by
Pete Wentz
Doors Open @ 10PM
Pete Wentz is the bassist and lyricist of the Grammy-nominated band Fall Out Boy, which over the past few years have released two multi-platinum albums that spawned the chart topping hits "Sugar, We're Going Down," "Dance, Dance," "Thnks Fr Th Mmrs," and "This Ain't A Scene, Its An Arms Race," among others. After riding to multiplatinum, global fame over the last 10 years, Wentz needed to do something completely different – which lead to the creation of his new project, Black Cards. Black Cards' music draws from Wentz's experience on the DJ circuit over the last several years. The group is destined to blow up speakers and dance floors worldwide with their new electro sound and punk rock mentality.
An accomplished writer, Wentz released the book The Boy With A Thorn In His Side, which has sold more than 10,000 copies to date and served as the inspiration for his clothing line Clandestine Industries. He is currently hard at work on a follow up, Rainy Day Kids as well as the ongoing comic book series Fall Out Toy Works based on the music of Fall Out Boy. An entrepreneur by nature, Wentz also founded the record label Decaydance and discovered and signed influential artists Panic at the Disco, Gym Class Heroes and Cobra Starship, among others to the imprint. Wentz is at the helm of his own one-man DJ company, has an independent production company, and is the co-owner of Angels & Kings, a brand of popular bar and nightlife destinations in New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Barcelona, Spain.
He is currently the host of a weekly radio show on Sirius/XM "Pete Wentz's Hits and Misses," previously was a host and co-producer of the MTV show "F'N MTV" which played classic and contemporary music videos and has helmed or moderated a myriad of high profile events such as the "Game On" panel at Carnegie Hall and the keynote at the 2009 Billboard Mobile Music conference.
He is an avid supporter of, and activist for, Invisible Children, an organization dedicated to eradicating the 24-year old civil war in northern Uganda by inspiring American youth to action. In March 2008, Wentz joined more than 1,000 youth from across the country to lobby Congress on behalf of the organization and in November, 2009 VH1 put him 12th on the list of “Top 20 Celebs Gone Good,” alongside Bono, Brad Pitt, Matt Damon, Angelina Jolie and Oprah Winfrey. He has appeared on various television shows to promote his music and good works, and has dabbled in acting, having recently appeared on an episode of "Californication," "CSI:NY," and the feature film "Degrassi Goes Hollywood."
An artist in every way, Wentz also produces mixed media, graffiti-inspired collaborative art with Travis McCoy of Gym Class Heroes. In December 2008, Wentz and McCoy staged an exhibition of more than twenty works created together and individually at Gallery 1988 in Los Angeles. Additional showings are currently in the works.
He currently resides in Los Angeles.
