Great horses and great drivers combine to offer fans the very best in harness racing action at Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack located just six miles south of the Philadelphia International Airport in Chester, Pennsylvania. The sport has welcomed the return of first class harness racing to the Delaware Valley, a region that once laid claim to being home of two of the top harness racing palaces - Liberty Bell Park & Brandywine Raceway.
The 2008 racing season begins Sunday, April 20 and runs through Thursday, December 18. Post time will be 12:25 P.M. The four-day race week includes Sunday, Monday, Wednesday and Thursday. The only exception to this schedule being Thanksgiving week with a special Tuesday card and no racing on Thanksgiving. Full-card simulcasting of both Standardbred and Thoroughbred signals from other tracks are offered year-round on a daily basis for your enjoyment as well.
Highlighting the 2008 racing season will be return of such prestigious stakes that have become legendary from years past in the area's racing annals and an event that was specifically created for Harrah's Chester in 2007.
Starting off the meet on Sunday, April 20 will be the $40,000 eliminations for the Betsy Ross, an event for aged Free-For-All pacing mares with the $250,000 Final going a week later on April 27. Aged Free-For-All trotters go head-to-head in the Maxie Lee Memorial on Sunday, May 18 with their $40,000 eliminations and the $250,000 Final on Sunday, May 25. The very best Aged Free-For-All pacers go postward on Sunday, June 8 in the $50,000 eliminations to advance to the $500,000 Ben Franklin Final on Sunday, June 15. On July 22, 2007 in its first edition, The Ben Franklin was captured by Boulder Creek in the world record equaling time for aged pacing geldings of 1:48 3/5.
Make sure you mark Sunday, August 17, 2008 on your racing calendar, for if you really consider yourself a true racing fan, you'll want to be here for Harrah's Chester Super Stakes Sunday. Harrah's Chester becomes a stop on the Grand Circuit with North America's top 3-Year-Olds being showcased on one day at one track. The Battle of the Brandywine Pace and the Colonial Trot will each have a purse of $500,000. Both events will have a $200,000 and $100,000 consolation on the same card as well. 3-Year-Old pacing fillies do battle in the $350,000 Valley Forge, along with a $150,000 and $75,000 consolation.

Please note that children under the age of 18 are restricted from racing wagering areas at all times. Children may enter the outdoor Grandstand seating area and dining areas only while accompanied by an adult during live racing hours of operation. Children are not permitted in any racing area during simulcast-only days, or on live racing days after the live card has been completed.
