Harrah’s Chester Casino & Racetrack begins its 2008 stakes schedule on opening day - Sunday, April 20 with the $40,000 eliminations for the Betsy Ross Free-For-All Mares Pace. One week later on April 27 the eight finalists go postward in the $250,000 Final.

In May, Free-For-All trotters are featured in the Maxie Lee Memorial - a top class event honoring one of the area's top class trainers and true gentleman of the sport. On May 18 the $40,000 eliminations will be held to determine who goes for the $250,000 prize on Sunday, May 25.

In its first edition on July 22, 2007, the Ben Franklin Free-For-All Pace was won by Boulder Creek in 1:48 3/5. The effort by the winner of $3 million not only set an all-age track record at the time, but also equaled the world record for an aged (4 years olds & up) gelding pacer on a 5/8 mile track. This year's event will have its $50,000 eliminations on Sunday, June 8 to see who will battle it out the following Sunday, June 15 in the $500,000 Final.

If you consider yourself a true harness racing fan, you will want to be here on Sunday, August 17 for Harrah's Chester Super Stakes Sunday. It will be a day that features stakes of the top 3-year-olds for both gaits in North America on one day at one track. Racing events for the day will include the $500,000 Battle of the Brandywine Pace, a $200,000 & $100,000 Battle Consolation, the $500,000 Colonial Trot, a $200,000 & $100,000 Colonial Consolation; and the $350,000 Valley Forge 3-Year-Old Filly Pace along with its $150,000 & $75,000 Consolation.

The Pennsylvania Sire Stakes rolls into town for the first time this season on Thursday, May 1 with the 3-year-old colt & gelding pacers. They are followed by: 3-year-old colt & gelding trotters on Wednesday, June 18; 2-year-old filly trotters on Monday, June 30; 3-year-old filly pacers on Monday, July 14; 2-year-old filly pacers on Wednesday, July 16; 2-year-old colt & gelding pacers on Monday, July 28; 3-year-old filly trotters on Thursday, August 14; and 2-year-old colt & gelding trotters on Monday, September 1. All legs will have purses estimated at $200,000. On Sunday, September 7, Harrah's Chester Casino & Racetrack will host the Pennsylvania Sire Stakes 3-Year-Old Championships. The four finals will each carry a guaranteed purse of $150,000.
