The format calls for exciting new comics every week. Beginning Sept. 4th show times will be 9 p.m. Sun. and Tues.-Fri. and two shows on Saturday 8 p.m. and 10 p.m.

Budd Friedman pioneered stand-up comedy venues when he opened his first "IMPROVization" in New York City in 1963. In 1975, he moved operations to the West coast and opened The Improv on Melrose Avenue. Scores of youing comics got their start and hones their skills on The Improv's stage. Steve Martin, Lily Tomlin, Jay Leno, David Letterman, Martin Mull, Elayne Boosler, Dana Carey, Andy Kaufman, Jerry Seinfeld, Robin Williams, David Spade and Jim Carrey are just some of the now-famous comedians who developed their acts at The Improv. Funnyman Howie Nave is host and emcee for all shows.
