It’s a destination like no other. Where world-class gambling and top-name entertainment combine to create an unprecedented experience.
In August 2008, Horseshoe Casino unveiled its $500 million expansion in Hammond, Indiana. Covering 350,000 square feet, the new property welcomes visitors in the same convenient location it has since its original opening—just 20 minutes from downtown Chicago.
Spectacular and awe-inspiring, the new casino is more than twice the size of the original, and the main casino floor on the first level is framed with ornate columns. Spacious and elegant, the casino displays wide stone aisles covered with plush wool carpeting.
Amazing detailed work can be found throughout Horseshoe. The casino’s ceiling is a dramatic 21 feet high, and the entire floor is illuminated in grand fashion with huge crystal chandeliers that are over 8 feet in diameter. The “dripping” crystals at both entries were created with nearly 120,000 pieces of crystal each.
Guests are welcomed by warm tones of copper, chocolate, and Horseshoe gold. Intricate moldings, ornate sconces, and hand-plastered walls offer distinctive touches. In the High Limit Table area, hand-blown glass flowers were created by Italian artisans. Genuine gold leaf adorns the grillwork of the cashiers’ cages and the ceiling domes of the High Limit Slot area. Silver leaf can be found in the Actual Silver Leaf found on the grillwork in High Limit Table area and in the domes of the High Limit Table ceiling.
Work from artists such as Tarkay, Max, Gockel, Krasnyansky, Le Kinff are on display, as well as oversize vintage photographs that showcase Las Vegas’ rich and colorful history.
With all-new features such as the premier entertainment destination in Chicagoland, the Midwest’s largest poker room, and the elaborate Asian Gaming Area, the Horseshoe Casino is big-time extravagance from the ground up. No expense was spared. No detail too small.
Taken all together, there’s an unmistakable aura, evoking the legendary Horseshoe experience.
